The single ‘Gamle-Erik’ tells the story of a pact with the devil, made in the pursuit of achieving pnes dreams. This is a tale found in various forms, recurring across cultures worldwide and throughout history. ‘Gamle-Erik’ is one of the names for the devil that often appears in Nordic folklore and folk tales. The name was used to avoid saying his "true" name, which was believed to bring misfortune. This ancient tale is to describe something eternally relevant, even in modern times; that people are willing to sacrifice everything in the pursuit of self-realization and success.

The song has long been a live favorite for the band and the audience alike, especially due to its theatrical performance. When MÍO perform Gamle-Erik’ live, vocalist Dionisia usually puts on a shawl and begins the adventure with "Once upon a time...", which leads into the song. It all ends with the devil coming to claim the lost soul he has been promised, and together they descend to the underworld.
